WELCOME TO IAFF LOCAL 1252

Welcome to the Taylor Professional Firefighters IAFF Local 1252 Web Site. IAFF Local 1252 is located in Taylor, Michigan. Local 1252 is a proud affiliate of the International Association of Fire Fighters, Michigan Professional Fire Fighters and the ALF-CIO,CLC.

Currently, IAFF Local 1252 represents 59 sworn members of the Taylor Fire Department and the International Association of Fire Fighters, with 13 current vacant positions.      

Local 1252 is proud to represent it membership, which consists of the following fire suppression rank structure: Fire Fighters, Sergeants, Lieutenants, Captains and Battalion Chief’s, along with daily operation of a dedicated Fire Marshall Division, Maintenance & Training Division and EMS Division.

Our Local takes great pride in being part of our community, participating in various local community events and donating financially to numerous local charities. Local 1252 participates annually in multiple events through out the year.

Taylor’s estimated population as of 2000 was 65,868 , covering 24.5 square miles. Daily, the Taylor Fire Department operates three fire stations, housing; 3 Engines, 4 ALS Medic Units, and 1 Battalion Chief Vehicle.  We respond to 8,000 plus incidents per year with most being medical calls. We have 14 min. manning per day with 53 in suppression overall.
